All of us here at Robotina are glad to have hosted a Hitachi, our long time partners on a two days visit. This is not the first time we as a team will be partnering with Hitachi, as there exists an healthy relationship and cooperation between us in addressing issues that surrounds global energy and environmental problems hindering the enhancement of industrial technologies. Before we take a look at some of the different occasions of cooperation that has existed between we and Hitachi in times past, let’s quickly have an understanding of what this meeting aimed at achieving. Through this meeting, Hitachi and Robotina signed a joint statement.
This joint statement clearly outlined a bilateral intention of cooperation to come up with the best possible means of enhancing research and innovation in the areas of global energy and environmental problems so as to see to the enhancement of industrial technologies. The joint statement agreed on by both parties among other things, looks out to provide financial aids to facilitate researches in these areas, and also help develop and sustain innovative ideas that will enhance industrial technologies. Prior to our meeting last week with Hitachi, about 1,08 billion euro was budgeted to addressing issues of global energy and environmental problems enhancement of industrial technologies.
At this point, let’s take a quick review of the cooperation we’ve had with Hitachi in past years, and how it has yielded positive impact in the areas of global energy and environmental problems enhancement of industrial technologies.
The Home Energy Management System Project
To achieve its set goals of supplying a minimum 80 percent of its domestic energy demand with renewable energy by the year 2050, Hitachi chemical Ltd started a demonstration project in Speyer. This project was well supported by Slovenia’s Robotina. This demonstration project aimed at proposing a solution for self-energy consumption management. To achieve this desired end, two residential buildings in Speyer were being used as the energy self-consumption model to carry out a test. While Hitachi was able to integrate solar panels, central storage batteries, heat pumps and home management hardware for the two buildings, Slovenia’s Robotina provided a certain type of application software which is a SMIP based application that helped in tracking and processing measurements. With this application software, the demonstration project was able to measure sensors, track data integrations, and gather data analysis. The cooperation of both parties did well to facilitate the Home Energy Management System Project of 2016 which ended up a success. At the end, the PhotoVoltaic power generation became predictable based on solar radiations; energy consumption became predictable based on load patterns, and a control logic was designed that controlled power flow and energy costs which results in storage battery optimization and heat pump control.
High-Tech Cooperation Between Hitachi and Robotina
Hitachi and Robotina’s successful high-tech cooperation has for a long time enjoyed a long spell of reference. Through this partnership, both parties have been able to develop quite a number of impressive innovations which are a derivative of careful and thorough research into the issues that bothers around global energy and enhancement of industrial technologies. These in-depth researches have been able to produce an optimized smart city project in Speyer, Germany which optimizes energy flow and storage alongside minimizing the cost of energy. This cooperation has also brought about a widespread appreciation of cybro controllers, machine learning and cloud software to produce remarkable results across several industrial technologies. How about the affordability of cost and comfort as it relates to energy provided for by the High-Tech cooperation of Hitachi and Robotina? The mass benefits this cooperation has introduced cannot be exhausted and more efforts are still being put in place to ensure progress and stability.
The BEMS Partnership
Another notable cooperation that have existed between Hitachi and Robotina is that of BEMS. BEMS is an advanced energy management system that maximizes self-consumption of renewable energy on one hand, and minimization of cost energy on another. In maximizing self-consumption of renewable energy, BEMS provides PV plants, electrical energy storage, heat pump with water tank and electrical meters to apartment owners. While in minimizing energy cost, it uses machine learning intelligence to predict the outcome of electrical consumption taking into cognizance previous data consumption, weather forecast of the area, and the level of energy stored. It then introduces a dynamic pricing system and optimization algorithms. The BEMS system project of Robotina was built partly on its technology, and partly on cooperation from other bodies like Stadtwerke Speyer (SWS) and Hitachi among others. Robotina’s Cybrotech helps in providing a complete control technology that helps in integrating and controlling real time, while its HIQ Universe IoT platform helps in assuring data safety and consistency as well as provide a storage system for data collected. Hitachi’s partnership on the other hand helps in introducing it’s verse experience and knowledge of electrical energy storage towards the success of the BEMS system project.
The successful cooperation we’ve had as a team with Hitachi before now is very vital to the meeting we had with them on their two days visit. From this we are able to understand how keen they are about addressing issues of global energy and environmental problems hindering enhancement of industrial technologies. Having previously taken meaningful steps to address these issues through successful working models, we can be sure to say that the outcome of this meeting either in agreement or in deed, seems a positive news for global energy. Another issue discussed was that of NEDO, and how it’s partnership can further improve the success of global energy and environmental problems enhancement of industrial technologies. With this meeting, we are about to witness a revolution, the type global energy has not experienced in a while. Looking at the quality of this cooperation, the outcome of this meeting cannot fall short of something positive, something revolutionary, something really outstanding.
