In a news that is sure to break the heart of several cryptocurrency enthusiasts, Escodex have announced that the decentralized cryptocurrency exchange is shutting down. The platform will be going down on the 15th of October 2019 and all ROX traders who still have tokens on the platform are now advised to withdraw it from the platform as soon as possible in order to prevent issues.

In a message posted on twitter, the Estonia decentralized crypto trading platform wrote;

Due to legal restrictions, we are announcing the exit of Escodex exchange from the crypto space. Escodex will shut down permanently on 15th October, 2019 and will be non-operational thereafter. All coin communities, admins, users, investors and individuals are hereby notified to withdraw your funds from Escodex before 15th October, 2019 4:00 PM Central Standard Time. Please note: Funds will not be refunded after mentioned deadline and Escodex Team will not be responsible for loss of funds/ inaccessible wallets. We are open to community takeover of Escodex, led by any technical knowledgeable individual only. Please do let us know if you are interested. All stuck transactions till now will be resolved asap, pls post in support channel of Escodex discord.

The series of tweets was of course received with diverse form of reactions. While the trading volume of the Estonia-based crypto currency platform has been a source of concern, no one saw the permanent shutting down coming. In the meantime, all users of this platform are admonished to share this post and also inform friends who may have funds on the Escodex platform.

This move may slightly affect some of the coins listed on the Escodex platform while they move their services elsewhere. You can be rest assured that this does not pose a long term effect on the prices of the coins and they should stabilize after a short while. Though you can trade ROX on other exchanges we do hope that the Escodex platform will be taken over and be operational yet again.

In the interim, we wish the team at Escodex the very best. They have our best wishes. Do not forget to get your funds off the Escodex platform before the 15th of October 2019.
